Madhya Pradesh Clean Survey 2024-25 I set an example of my cleanliness. At a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, President Draupadi Murmu honored eight cities of the state with cleanliness awards. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Minister of State Tokhan Sahu and Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya were present on the occasion.
Great performance of cities
Among cities with more than 10 lakh population, Bhopal finished second, Jabalpur fifth and Gwalior secured 14th position. Indore was declared the best city in the country in the Cleanliness League. Ujjain secured first place in 3-10 lakh population category, while Budhni topped cities with less than 20 thousand population.
Star rating to 203 cities
203 cities of Madhya Pradesh received a star rating, which is 12% higher than 157 cities of the previous year. Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur received 7 stars, Dewas, Rewa and Satna 5 stars, 36 cities got 3 stars and 161 cities got 1 star rating.
Chief Minister’s response
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav congratulated the people of the state on this achievement. He said, “Make cleanliness a part of lifestyle.” He appreciated the contribution of sanitation workers, mayors and public.
Swachh Bharat Mission Theme
The theme of the Clean Survekshan 2024-25 was “the best use of waste”. The survey is the world’s largest urban sanitation survey under Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban. This achievement of Madhya Pradesh established an inspiration for the country.
